Warwick practises in all areas of civil, public and general commercial law. Additionally, his practice includes regulatory prosecutions and inquiries. He has appeared led in the High Court and both led and unled in intermediate courts of appeal. His trial experience encompasses federal and state courts across a broad range of practice areas. It includes multiple multi-week trials, both led and unled. He also appears in the various employment, administrative and disciplinary tribunals at first instance and on appeal.

 

Immediately prior to joining the independent bar in 2025, Warwick was, from 2018, Counsel in the Crown Counsel Section of the Crown Solicitor’s Office.

 

Warwick has specific expertise in the following areas:

  • Administrative law (including both judicial and merits review);
  • Contractual and broader commercial disputes, particularly those relating to infrastructure;
  • Coronial inquests and other forms of inquiry;
  • Environment and planning law;
  • Industrial and employment law (including workers’ compensation);
  • Intentional and unintentional torts (including professional negligence);
  • Magistrates appeals;
  • Native title and Aboriginal heritage;
  • Proceedings under the Australian Consumer Law;
  • Professional discipline; and
  • Prosecutions and civil enforcement proceedings for breaches of work health and safety, environment protection and other regulatory legislation.
